As if their lives depended upon it… {Day Six}

by SomeGirl on October 6, 2011 · 26 comments

I woke up from a dream the other day (earlier this week) that really caught my attention.

It started off as a typical dream…

I was rushing down the road in an SUV trying to get to my high school reunion.

I actually ran a red light – I was in that big of a hurry (I don’t normally do that in real life). ;)

Once I made it there, inside the building, I went around peeking into rooms filled with different groups of people from way back when… cheerleaders, band people, “back parking lot” guys and gals… etc.

I stood on the outside looking in for awhile and kept thinking about the name of the auditorium and how that was the same Greek word for something I had read in the Bible.

Eventually I entered one of the rooms where the majority of my friends were.

We talked about relationships, fashion, hair… but I kept thinking about that Greek word for the auditorium.

Finally, somehow (you know how dreams are), we all ended up outside and I realized why the word kept coming to my mind…

It was the same Greek word used for the signalling of Christ’s return… at that moment, I began to look up toward the sky.

I was standing next to my husband, who was holding my boys, and we were all, for some reason, looking up expectantly, yet with doubt.

Then suddenly one of the clouds I was looking at started to glow, then the one next to it started to glow as well. And I knew at that moment what was taking place… in the middle of the first cloud was a dark figure coming toward us. It was Christ returning just as He had left on the Day of Pentecost.

Immediately, with all of the urgency of the world, I turned to my boys and exclaimed, “Confess your sins and they’ll be forgiven!! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you’ll be saved!!” I knew they believed already, but I didn’t want to take a chance.

Then I started running around as quickly as I could to all of my friends, shouting the same thing, as if their lives depended upon it (which it did in my dream)…

“Confess your sins and they’ll be forgiven!! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you’ll be saved!!

Confess your sins and they’ll be forgiven!! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you’ll be saved!!

Confess your sins and they’ll be forgiven!! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you’ll be saved!!”

As I ran around startling my friends, who had no idea what was going on and couldn’t fully process what I was saying, I kept wondering why I hadn’t told them earlier? Why I had only talked of fashion, hair and relationships? And I wished I could have gone back in time and changed things!

Then, I woke up.

And let me tell you… I don’t ever want to miss those opportunities and be in that situation again!

I pray you and I will be ready to share the good news with those we meet and that we’ll make it a priority to let people know about God’s great plan of salvation… may He revive that sense of urgency in our hearts.

His return in nearer than we expect! And it gets nearer each day that goes by!

And, just in case no one’s ever told you, let me say…

Confess your sins and they’ll be forgiven!! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you’ll be saved!!

If you have any questions about that, please email me at michelle {at}

I’d love to talk with you about it!

Now that’s definitely something to think about, isn’t it?!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

“They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.” – Acts 16:31

Thank you for that dream and thank you that there’s still time to share the Good News of Your salvation!

May I make the most of every opportunity You give me.

Wow! That is definitely a thought-provoking dream! How lucky that you were able to remember it so clearly and use it as a powerful reminder. :)

I grabbed a pen and paper from the bedside table and wrote the details right away! (Didn’t want to forget them.) :)

That is powerful and convicting! We need to live with that sense of urgency. Why don’t we?? Everything I read and sermons I hear lately has had that same message. The time is short. We better get to work!!

Amen. – The time is short. We better get to work!!

I’ve been very convicted of the same. Thanks for sharing.

Praying that you and I will be faithful to the calling/conviction God has placed in our lives. {hugs} May we not forget.

Well, that certainly got my attention. It’s time to wake up and get serious; people need the Lord.

(and I had another “rapture dream” last night….) Time to wake up and get seriuos, indeed.

Your words are powerful today, Michelle. I pray everyone who lands on your blog page today and doesn’t know Jesus will choose Him as their Savior.

Blessed Beyond a doubt

Thank you for that wonderful prayer! May it be so. Amen.

Blessed Beyond a doubt

WOWW zers!

Are you a prophet? lol!

Love how the Lord used your dream to evangelize to the world!

lol! :)

Thank you!

I have chill bumps all up and down.

Isn’t there a name for that… Holy Spirit goose bumps?

It’s great to see you pop in here, Jennifer! :)

Connie, the daisyhead

Wow! Talk about waking up in a cold sweat!

Thanks for sharing what you heard. May it not fall on complacent ears.

And may it not come from complacent lips… thanks, Connie! :)

Missional Mama

Great post, great encouragment to keep at sharing the Gospel.

{I wrote Folloe instead of Follow #35, sorry about that typo!}

Have a great day,

Thanks for linking up! One of these days I want to sit down and catch up on your 31 day series… I LOVE the topic!

I had a dream just like that once….well, except I wasn’t at my High School Reunion. I remember waking up feeling this same sense of urgency…..wanting to tell everybody…..right then and there…. in the middle of the night. I can’t help thinking God is telling us to get busy, to quit wasting time and to let people know. It’s so easy to become complacent…..but like you wrote, lives are at stake!

Great post…so happy to have “found” you! :)

It is so easy, isn’t it?

May we remember and be bold!

So glad to have you here, Stacy!

Very God sent dream. And, yes, I know how dreams are. I am always ending up in weird places. Then I tell my husband and he thinks I am weird cause he doesn’t even remember his dreams..

I had another one last night… they’re starting to freak me out. Maybe it would be nice to be like your husband. ;) lol

What a dream, Michelle. And a great reminder to all…

Thank you. Again. (I believe I’m often thanking you. If not; I should be.)

You’re so sweet! Thank you for your comments (and thank you’s). ;)
