A GREAT time for a Giveaway!

by SomeGirl on July 1, 2011 · 25 comments

Wow!! It’s hard to believe SomeGirl’s Website has 800 “likes” on FB… thank you!! Your support and encouragement have made blogging such a JOY!!

To celebrate let’s have a little giveaway!

In honor of our upcoming trip around the West, with a stop in Seattle, I thought it would be nice to giveaway a $10 gift card to Starbucks…. mmmm. (Wish I could sit and have a Caramel Frappuccino with you!)

All you have to do is answer this question…

What will you do this weekend to show someone you love them? How will you fraddle for or with them? Remember that fraddling can be as simple as stopping what you’re doing to play ball with your little one, letting your husband spend time on his hobby, writing a note of encouragement to a friend, or selling things to donate money to a charity… it doesn’t have to be big, just intentional!

If your curious, I am going to fraddle for my boys by helping them set up a lemonade stand as soon as I finish this post. :)

What about you? (tell me in the comment section below)

Btw, since we’re leaving bright and early Monday, I’ll close this giveaway tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 7/2/11) and send the winner an email to get their mailing address.

If you’re on FB, please make sure you “like” SomeGirl’s Website’s page. (Not a requirement to enter, but it sure would be nice of you!) :)

Thank you!

Update: Woo-hoo!! We have a winner! Congratulations to the Head Ant!! (Believe it or not, she was the last person to comment… I don’t know why that surprises me, but it does.)

Paula Strong

I am going to spend the weekend encouraging my husband. July 4th is the one year anniversary of the death of his brother. We are going to go to the driving range and hit golf balls – his favorite thing to do that he never gets to do.

SomeGirl

I can’t believe it’s been a year… I pray you are all comforted as you pass this difficult marker. Love you, Paula! Hope you have a wonderful time together hitting golf balls!

Cherie

Congratulations! You are a rock star! We’re spending the weekend at Grandma’s house! Love getting away.

SomeGirl

Oh, Girl… no where near a rock star! Just a girl who likes to gab and FB. ;) Hope you have a wonderful time at Grandma’s house. I’m sure she LOVES having you guys there! :)

Estherf

I will spend all weekend cooking for everyone I love! Feed ’em and they will be happy! Congrats!

Lisa

Congrats on the “Likes!” Today I am going to make homemade pizza–again–even though I’m kinda tired of it–because my husband and kids think that it’s just not Friday without it. Have fun with the lemonade stand!

Rachel

We’re gonna have fun with my little guy – going fishing for the first time!! :) Hope y’all have a wonderful trip!!

Amy

We are having a game/ movie night with our kids.

Lis

I am going to order a book of encouragement for my best friend’s mom who is fighting breast cancer!

Duane Scott

Congratulations!

And…

I’m going to fraddle with my wife this weekend.

I guess that’s what the kids are calling it these days. ;)

SomeGirl

Haha… I wondered if someone might say something like that. ;)

Mariliz

I’m inviting all my family to spend the day with us on Sunday. I will start cooking early tomorow morning and put love as ingredient into every thing I make. Happy 4th of July!

Patti

This vacation weekend I am continuing to be in charge of all the children in the mornings so my dear friend can sleep in. In addition to that, for our children (both families) I am purposefully telling them stories of their early childhoods. You know I like you in real life, and I even like you on facebook (far less important of the two of course). :-)

I’m going to spoil my husband and son with yummy food and then a trip to watch fireworks!

(Just found your site. Love it! So encouraging!)

I’m almost 37 weeks pregnant and my husband has been spending so much time doing nice things for me, like offering to take care of every lunch, washing our son’s diapers, and letting me sleep in. I’d love to cook him a nice big tri-tip dinner this weekend to show him how much I appreciate him.

Congrats on 800 likes, Michelle! That’s awesome.

By the way, I live in Seattle! The weather is gorgeous right now so you are coming at a perfect time!

jenn perry

we are spending Sunday in the car for 10+ hours driving to get our kiddos! (who have been with grandparents on a 2wk adventure) :)
happy 4th, friend!

Marci@OvercomingBusy

Our family is going to our best friend’s son’s baseball tournament to cheer him on and then we are having a cookout afterwards. I’m making my friends favorite appetizer for her.

Have a wonderful trip!

Sisterlisa

We made a donation of clothes and a large TV to a church for their yard sale that funds their upcoming VBS and we are in the middle of planning a fund raiser with the help of a local store and jump house business to raise funds for families in need.

Claire

Im cooking dinner for teh whole fam tonight :)

Robin

I spent my Friday evening taking the kids swimming (along w/ the hubby) so they could try out their new swim goggles. They had a blast and now we are all POOPED!

Amy

I am going to show love to the hubby by being extra diligent to acknowledge his hard work around the house and with always being there for his friends and helping out with things. Sometimes I focus too much on the things he hasn’t done than on focusing on what he *has* done.

Josanna

This weekend, I’m not making a “to-do” list. I’m going to play with my little one all day tomorrow and then when the hubs gets home, we are going to watch a movie and hang out – just the 3 of us. Normally, when I’m home from traveling, I tend to make up a long “to-do” list for myself – cleaning, computer work, stuff around the house…but not this weekend. This weekend is all about them. :)

Catherine Fruisen

I’m on my way out the door to meet a girlfriend in a troubled marriage, to listen to and encourage her. Which is no big deal. The fraddling: we are meeting at a park, rather than my favorite Starbucks, so she can bring her two little ones along. Not my first choice for early-Saturday-morning activities. Love her, love Jesus; God, help me be a cheerful listener, while pushing the swing! blessings, ~ c ♥

shirley

I will be cooking all weekend for about 20 people, and I have to work, and July 4 is my birthday. I am in charge of all food and 12 kids. But I am making me a blackberry cobbler for my birthday( I will share). In the middle of cleaning out closets, going to fill at least 10 boxes (or more) to donate next week. Busy weekend!
