Fraddling by Faith

Fraddle def. – The act or an instance of doing something for or with someone because you love them.  “… let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 (see origin of word here)

Ooooh… I can’t wait to share what one of my dear friends does to fraddle! We were hanging out yesterday, talking about all kinds of things, and then she mentioned a checklist that she uses to try to make sure she’s “doing God’s will each day”… She gets her checklist out in the morning or the night before (see image below), gets ready to write and prays, “God, What do You want me to do today for or with “so-and-so” for You?” Then she writes the thought that comes to her mind. In the very last box she asks, “Is there anything else I’ve forgotten?” And then writes what she feels God pressing on her heart to do and keeps it in front of her all day long to use as a “to do” list for the day.

Isn’t that cool?!! Fraddling by faith!! I LOVE it! And I think I’m going to try it! Thanks, Heather!

I wish I had taken a picture of my friend yesterday… bummer! But, I found one to show the idea of how cute and thought-filled she is… photo from here

(Btw, Heather, we had TONS of FUN hanging out with you guys yesterday!! And I always enjoy our conversations!! ♥ Michelle)

Leave a comment with your email address if you’d like a copy of her sample Word Doc checklist. And find other GREAT Parenting with Faith posts at Gather Inspirit today! (You may notice I’m hopping around after hours today, but we have friends coming over tonight so I’m “massaging the computer-time-use-numbers” today.) :)

Michelle that is the coolest idea! Thank you for sharing!!! :)

I thought it was, too! Thanks, Chele! ♥ Michelle

What an awesome idea!!!

I know… don’t you just love it?!! :)

(although, I admit, thinking about actually sitting down and doing it made me a little scared… do I REALLY want to know and do God’s will… what if He asks me to do something I don’t want to do??? Hmmm… that could be a good thing to ask you to pray about, when you pray! :) What about you?)

I totally agree….It’s SO much harder to live by faith than to talk about
it!! I’ll be praying! Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow!! =)

That’s something I use to do (more regularly)…I was just talking about it with my husband the other day too. Sometimes I’d also ask what if there were any schemes of the enemy I needed to be aware of.

Maybe it’s time to get back into the habit. ;)

Wow! You are so ahead of the game! Thanks for the extra question to ask… we need to be on the watch, don’t we?! Thanks, Jessica!

I have some photos of Heather you could use but she made me promise never to let them leave the house.

It’s not what you’re thinking.

Perfect example of how the chart is helping me fraddle and fail at fradle:
God led me to love my husband by focusing on his positive qualities and than a mere horus later he makes a dry sense of humor comment on this blog!
Let’s just say I failed to fraddle when I read that. Thanks be to God that we have chance after chance to love others as long as we are breathing!

Actually, I don’t see any fail there… God knew your sweet husband would make a comment and instructed you to focus on his positive qualities after reading his comment… if He hadn’t instructed you to do that you might not… look at that Fraddling by Faith at work… still LOVE it! (I even like his dry humor) ;)

Hmmm… now I’m curious! ;)

Love that! From one type A to another. ;)

I often imagine the “cloud of witnesses” saying “NO! Don’t clean the toilet right now! There is something of more value that needs to be done. Something eternal.”

Type A… I hadn’t even thought about it, but that is too true of us. :) Btw, Heather wrote a neat comment in reply to yours… thought I’d let you know here in case you don’t check back. ♥ Michelle

How great- I love it and would love the doc! Thanks Michelle :)

I’ll send it out soon! ♥ Michelle

Dear Lara,

Funny thing with this planner I’m using, God has actually lead me to “dust, clean up the rabbit poop, and wash the floors.” Something about much is given, much is expected.
I’m guessing He somehow sees cleaning toilets as holly work when we do it out of thanksgiving for having indoor plumbing.
If anything, it make the task a bit easier for me to endure.

Thanks Michelle for sharring the chart. I know it is helping me and it sure is exciting to think God can use it to help others as well.

Love ya my friend!

That’s really neat! I’m excited to think how God can use it to help others, too! Thanks for letting me know about it! ♥ Michelle (Love ya, too!)

That’s funny, Heather. We have a rabbit too! And yes He does lead me to clean my house at times. ;) But I am a recovering neat-freak. So letting go of some things is His working in me these days. :)

I love this idea!!!! Such a simple, easy thing to do. I think that just taking a few minutes to listen to what God wants from me makes such a difference in my day.

Great post, Michelle! I love the idea of faith planning. Not that we shouldn’t be focused on God continuously, but this does help keep things in perspective throughout the day.

Great idea!
