He DOES Have You (Thought Provoking Thursday)

by SomeGirl on August 5, 2010 · 18 comments

Yesterday the  boys and I went to a waterpark with some friends. One of the attractions we spent time in was The “Crazy Liver” (aka The Lazy River).  I sat in a tube (like the lady in the picture) and my littlest one sat in my lap. I had my arms wrapped lovingly around my son (and his life-vest). At first he clutched to the handle on the tube and I kept reminding him, “I have you. I’m holding you. You’re okay.” It took awhile for him to let go and realize I did have him. Then he clutched again when we went under a waterfall, but soon relaxed after we had passed through it. After a few times around  he began to enjoy the spray of water (at least the smaller sprays of water). And  he seemed to realize he was going to be okay, because I had him. And now, I can’t help but feel like there’s someone who needs to hear this today…

God has you… even during times when you’re not really feeling him. He is holding you and carrying you. What you’re going through may be scary, but He is in control and knows the outcome. He knew this day would come when He formed you in the womb. You are His child, His creation. He formed you with His hands and every day ordained for you was written before one came to be. Your situation does not surprise Him. He knows the future and holds it in His  hands. Look around and see Him. He’s there with you. Feel His touch. He’s guiding and directing your life. It may not seem like it, but He’s there and has EVERYTHING under control. He will NEVER leave you or forsake you! May you KNOW that in your innermost being today. May you sense that with ALL your heart. May you rest in Him as  he directs your path. He DOES have you! May God be glorified in your life!! ♥ Michelle

That’s something very assuring to think about!

Oh my goodness! You have no idea how much I needed this today! Thank you!

That warms my heart to hear! May God wrap His arms around you and let you sense His presence in mighty ways! ♥ Michelle

Girl…. when you get your thinking cap working, it’s an awesome thing!!

Wonderful post, made me tear up (for the 3rd time today…) and Thank you! I think I’m going to cut and paste this onto my calendar and set it to remind me every so often!

You’re so sweet, Shell! I’m SO glad you cried 3 times today (since I know they were happy-ambushed-with-love-God-is-with-me cries)! :) Love you, Girl!

Very nicely written! I love the comparison to you and your son….the same unconditional love! And it teaches us to have faith that all is happening the way it’s supposed to!

Betsy, I love that even your comments are so soothing, reassuring and calm… you bless me in so many ways! Thank you!

Yes, I needed this reminder! I need to loosen my grip and trust that God has already planned for every bump and splash that will come my way! Thank you Michelle for sharing your thoughts. They are ALWAYS so encouraging!

He’s holding you, Girl! He has it ALL in His control (even when it looks out of control)! Praying for you and can’t wait to see you! ♥ Michelle

Thank you. Great post. What a beautiful way of reminding everyone that He is with them.

Can’t wait to hear what you think of the book!!

Beautiful post…such encouraging words! I needed this today! :)

Praying for you right now… you’ve had a lot of opportunities to trust God lately! May He be glorified in your life and make Himself known to you in MIGHTY ways! ♥ Michelle

Thanks Michelle. Love it when God speaks through others to bring encouragement to the body! You are so sweet; I’m misty eyed. I’m (still) learning that each challenge we face can be viewed either as a struggle or as an opportunity draw nearer to The One who holds us, even when the journey isn’t an easy one. Will keep trusting and waiting on Him. *Love to you!*

Love to you, too!!! Praying for you!!!

Love, love, love. This speaks to so many. I feel so frustrated sometimes when God is silent. Your post has touched me and it is properly titled.

May God be glorified! Thank you, Steph!

Wow. It’s so true, and what a great analogy. This post made tears spring to my eyes. You were able to so clearly articulate how He holds, protects and keeps us. I’m so glad you’re blogging. Keep up the great writing and positive ponderings. =)

I haven’t been keeping up with blogs lately and I missed this post, but my friend Laura sent me a link to it yesterday. We learned this week that our birth mother lost her child at 20 weeks due to renal failure. It is devastating news for all of us. Reading the second paragraph of your post was just what I needed to help me get through a terribly sad day. Thank you for writing such powerful and beautiful words. (And thank you, Laura, for sharing it with me.)
