I Am Free

Yesterday evening, before the boys went to bed, I  had the urge to get out of the house alone for an hour. Just to drive around, get a Coke and go to a store… any store. ;) A little break from everything before bedtime and before my week started (I think the urge came when my youngest one asked if “Daddy”  could do something tomorrow and my husband reminded him that tomorrow was Monday and  he  was going back to work). So, I got in my car. Drove through McDonalds. Ordered my usual: Large Coke and a cheeseburger with extra pickles. Sat in the parking lot and ate (probably my favorite place to eat – the car). Then made my way to one of my favorite stores… Goodwill SuperStore (a thrift SUPER store, how great is that?).

On my way I decided to turn on a new CD my husband  recently bought for me: Wow Worship 2010. The song that came on made me want to turn up the music, then turn it up some more and  more… next thing you know I was ROCKIN’ in the car with my head boppin’ all over the place singing at the top of my lungs “I am FREE!”  I’m sure it was a funny sight to see, but it sure did feel good!

Just before the music came on I was thinking about how great my life is and how crazy it is that I chose to worry about things like problems a friends is going through that I have no control over and whether Twitter people will be upset if I don’t follow them back… how crazy is that?! Then I turned up the music and was reminded that I have been set free! Who the Son sets free is free indeed! Free from worry. Free from fear. FREE!

I loved “jammin’ out” (can I still use that or is it so last century?) to this song, so I thought I’d share it with you. Hopefully you’re somewhere that you can turn it up… WAY UP! Enjoy!

Btw, thank you for your concern… the croup has left the building! Praise God! ♥

Oh, oh – I think I’m even BEFORE “jammin’ out!” Love the song! Thanks for sharing – and have a great, FREE week, Michelle!!

Hahaha… before “jammin’ out”… you’re not much older than me are you? :)

Thanks for the RT, btw! Hope you have a great, FREE week, too!! ♥ Michelle

You’re welcome, Michelle. And, yes, I am. I’m 54 (55 this fall) – yikes!

That’s not much older in my book. :D

One of my favorite songs. It’s a “get up and dance” one for sure!

That’s for sure! Great to see you here, Barbie! :) ♥ Michelle

Ah, freedom! Since our b’days are so close, “jamming out” sounds about right to me ;) I’ve never heard this song but the style reminded me a little of U2.

That’s funny, it came on while my husband and I were out tonight and he said the same thing (U2)… weird. :) I love that our birthdays are so close! I was just thinking about it earlier today. :) ♥ Michelle

I love that song! Isn’t it great when you have a moment of remembering that we are FREE?! What an amazing gift He has given us!!!
And, btw – the car is one of my favorite places to eat! :)

Yes it is! I just wish I lived in the knowledge that I am FREE… I tend to forget it so easily! May we continually remember and live in that moment! :)

Btw, I don’t meet people who like to eat in the car very often… how fun that you do! It’s nice to meet you, Josanna! ♥ Michelle

LOL! I just went to your blog and realized I’ve met you before… silly me! Sorry about that… sometimes I’m clueless! ♥ ♥ ♥

We are free in Christ! Praise God for that freedom!

Love the moments in the car when you can crank up the music. And just drive for a few. I think I’m overdue for a half hour or an hour like this. I have to admit this is the first time I’ve heard this song – I like it! TFS!!!

Hi :) I am visiting from ifelloship. I can totally relate to this post. If does feel so good just to get out away from everyone and enjoy your time with God. We sing this song at church a lot. I ♥ it! I hope you have a great week! If you have the time please stop by and say hello.

Always a great reminder that we are free. We serve a great God. I need to receive the peace that Christ offers. He wants to carry our load for us.
