I’d Like to Thank…

What a joy it is to receive blogger awards from my fellow bloggers! Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been honored to receive two different awards from three GREAT bloggers and today I’m here to say thank you to them and hand out a few awards myself! So, here it goes…

Kim from Living in Love with Jesus and Meghan from The Tuckers Take Tennessee were so sweet to think of me for this awesome (or should I say Outstanding) blog award:
Here are the rules for this award:

1) Thank the person who gave me this award:

Thank you, Kim and Meghan!! ♥ You’re both SO sweet to think of me!

2) Share 7 things about myself:

  • I LOVE hosting parties!
  • I hate doing laundry and dishes (but I’m trying to change my attitude).
  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Coca Cola!
  • I have worn glasses since 2nd grade, but am afraid I need bifocals now…
  • I’m turning 40 on August 28th… thus the need for bifocals. :) (btw, 37 was difficult, I’m kind of excited about 40)
  • I’m an indoor girl, but I go outside for the boys.
  • I LOVE road trips and feel the itch for one coming on… :)

3) Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who I have recently discovered and who I think are fantastic!

So. here are some new blogs I recently (or relatively recently) discovered and think are OUTSTANDING (in no particular order… well, in the order that they were open on my browser… I have a full browser at the moment):

  1. A Quiet Heart
  2. Inchala from Ohio to Ethiopia
  3. So, I Married a Mennonite…
  4. Walking with Angels
  5. Living Montessori Now
  6. Lamp Unto My Feet
  7. Closing Time
  8. Compass in My Heart
  9. Our Ordinary Days
  10. Saving Money & Living Life
  11. The Inadvertent Farmer
  12. Unexpected Bliss
  13. Feeding the Orphans
  14. Officially My Mother
  15. The Grace of an Amazinggg God
  16. The Farris Wheel

(Okay, I went one over. And I’m sure I’ll remember more favorites later today… I’ll link to them in another post soon. :) )

And another sweet blogger gave me this kind award:

Thank you, Colleen (from Adventures of a Small Town Girl) for thinking of me!! ♥
The Prolific Blogger Award is described this way:

A prolific blogger is one who is intellectually productive, keeping up an active blog with enjoyable content. After accepting this award, recipients are asked to pass it forward to seven other deserving blogs.
So, I happily pass the award to…

And last but not least… I am giving YOU this Sweet Reader Award! Thank you for being SO encouraging and supportive and for taking the time to read my posts!! I’m SO glad and thankful to have YOU as a reader!

The recipients of this award are asked to share:

    • The weirdest thing they’ve ever eaten,
    • One of the best thing about themselves and
    • one thing they’re working on.

I can’t wait to learn more about you!! ♥ Love, Michelle

I’ll start to get the ball rolling…

The weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten (and liked to eat) was chocolate chip cookies dipped in mustard (which was nearly as good as Ruffles dipped in mustard).

One of the best thing about myself (outside of being a child of God) is my smile.

Something I’m working on is going to be before midnight (preferably around 10:30).

Okay, your turn! :)

Michelle, you just made my day with the Outstanding Blogger Award! THANKS SO, SO MUCH! And thank you for being an outstanding and prolific blogger – you totally deserved your awards!

Also . . . for my Sweet Reader Award, here are my answers:
•Probably the weirdest food I’ve ever had is rejuvelac, a fermented liquid often used in raw-food diets.
•The best thing about me is that I truly care about helping people.
•One thing I’m working on (not working on enough!) is decluttering.

Blessings and hugs, Deb

Heather

Thanks so much! We are honored. :)

Weirdest thing I’ve eaten: something in Spain I’m sure
Best thing about me: I love to motivate others & share my passion for life.
Working on: learning to be domestic :)

Wow thank you so much for the award! And congrats on yours! I’ll see about returning the love this week :)

As for my reader award:

1. weirdest food: fried frog legs. taste just like chicken, only stringier.
2. One of the best things about me… my sense of humor.
3. Something I’m working on ? Simplifying life.

Jennifer

To quote one of my favorite lines from The Wizard of Oz, “Shucks, folks, I’m speechless!”

Thanks, Michelle….it made my day too!

1) weird food: cardboard. Oh, I mean diet bread. So weird it should be outlawed.

2) best thing: I have lots of songs in my heart.

3) working on: being an oustanding blogger.

Erin @ Closing Time

Michelle, thanks so much for thinking of me! I’m truly honored!

And for the Sweet Reader Award answers:

The weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten was while I was overseas. An incredibly sweet family served me one of their regional specialties. From what I could tell, it was basically congealed fat…complete with a strip of what I think was liver in the middle of it. They served me a generous chunk of it. It would have been incredibly rude to refuse, so I politely asked for some bread to eat with it (normal in that country), prayed silently for help from the Lord, and ate it. They sat around me smiling and staring the entire time. :)

One of the best things about me…I’m a good listener, and I don’t share what is told to me in confidence.

Something I’m working on…getting more organized. :)

Erin @ Closing Time

It’s me again… :)

I’m so glad you have a button for your blog! I checked for one the other day when I was updating my blogroll page. I just added it!

Stacey

You really think I’m prolific? I may need to look that word up! And I love Colleen from Adventures of A Small Town Girl! She is awesome (and right to give you this award!)

Thank you sweet Michelle. I am truly honored!

And since I’m a reader too… the weirdest thing I have eaten would have been overseas as a missionary in Eastern Europe, I ate meat…that might have been hotdogs but maybe then again, not!

Hugs,
Staceyl

Sherry

Thank you for the award! That was sweet! You are such a blessing!

■The weirdest thing they’ve ever eaten, – grape or strawberry jelly with cheddar
■One of the best thing about themselves – cook well?
■one thing they’re working on – organization

Joy

The Sweet Reader Award!? I’m honored, but I didn’t prepare a speech :)

Weirdest food: Chitlin’s. I have no idea how to spell it, but they’re pig intestines. And I’m having the gag reflex just typing it out.

Best thing about me: I can wiggle my ears and roll my tongue.

Working on: A Christian romance novel

Rachel Pereira

First of all, thanks for the sweet award!! What awesome company!! Love you, girl!!

1. Weirdest thing I’ve eaten….Nothing really comes to mind because I’m a very “plain”eater. I don’t really eat many thing that are spicy or “weird”. I did eat wild turkey that my hubby shot for the first time last year. I even ate it again this year!! =)
2. I had to ask my husband about this one….He says one of the best things about me is that I’m an encourager…
3. Something I’m working on is controlling my perfectionism so that I enjoy life w/ my hubby and son. I can get so caught up on a clean/organized house that I miss out on special memories!! I’ve been doing better lately!! =)

Jaime

thank you for the award!!
okay here we go….
The weirdest thing they’ve ever eaten; i try to remain on the safe side with food but I can agree with the other lady and say frog legs. YUCK

One of the best thing about myself..I can organize ANYTHING I love to do it..my dream job is to work on the TV show helping horders!!

one thing they’re working on….getting out of debt (yeah I know good luck with that!)

again thanks I am honored !! Jaime

lara

well, aren’t you so sweet. :) prolific, huh?! the pressure.

And, well, I am one of your readers so…

1. I would never be able to do survivor. I’m not brave on this one. My son however once tried to eat a cigarette butt off the grocery store parking lot. Can we say DISGUSTING!!!???
2. sensitive to the Spirit…or try to be.
3. learning how to love without strings–only in the overflow.

Thanks, sister-friend.

Laura Maly

Wow! Thanks for the award, Michelle!!! That’s awesome! I have to say, I’m not sure I’m living up to the prolific part – at least not these last few weeks. And that brings me to the answers to your questions for all the “sweet readers.”

The weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten: shark steak
One of the best things about myself: my sense of humor
One thing I’m working on: getting back to being a “prolific blogger”! :-)

Thanks again! You’re the sweetest!
