Little by Little, It All Adds Up (Fraddling Friday)

Earlier this week, I wrote about 7 Days of Love (a fundraiser to aid orphaned children). In one of the opening posts of the event, there was a suggestion that we go look under our sofa cushions for spare change to make even a $1 donation. As soon as I read that, I knew what my fraddle for others this week would be! I committed in my mind and heart to check 3 places and donate the change I found… the dryer, my kitchen coin jar and my car ashtray (later I added my junk/key bowl).

I was surprised when the $.56 from the top of the dryer + the $2.15 from the junk bowl + the $1 from my car ashtray + the coins from the kitchen jar came to $39!!

My oldest son offered a $1 bill to make an even $40!!

We were all so excited to be able to help children in need! And when I had asked my oldest if he’d like to donate his dollar, he said,

“Well, if it was me I’d want someone else to help…. so, sure.”

What sweet words from my sweet 7 year old (who “loves having money, but loves God more”… in his own words).

So, that’s our fraddle for for others this week. And for those interested, we had a GREAT day of resting and hanging out together yesterday… we REALLY needed it! Thanks for your prayers! ♥

How about you? How have you been intentional with your love and life this week? How have you put feet to your faith? How have you acted out  1 John 3:18 “… let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” I’d LOVE to read about it in the comment section below. Or link your “feet to faith” post below for all of us to read! (Just be sure to link back to SomeGirl’sWebsite … btw, we’ll be linking up each Friday! So, keep that in mind next week as you blog). ♥ Thanks!

And, if you have spare change lying around and would like to donate just $1 (and be entered into some cute giveaways) check out 7 Days of Love at So, I Married a Mennonite. I think you’ll be glad you did! ♥

(I’ll go ahead and link the giveaways below; look for “7 Days of Love”)

Oh, man! The thought of your son donating his dollar gets me all choked up!

Thanks for all you did this week to help me fraddle abandoned children! I’m so grateful for you, friend!

And I hope you win some prizes! :)

Yeah, he isn’t normally that giving with his money, so I was touched when he said that, too.

Thanks, for letting me be a part! I’m excited someone’s doubling the donations… that’s GREAT!

Fingers crossed for the giveaway! :)
