It’s Worth Repeating… {Day Eight}

by SomeGirl on October 8, 2011 · 8 comments

It’s worth repeating and it’s something I still need (especially today as I am sore all over with pain from back and neck issues).

Let’s continue to pray for rest for our bodies and souls. And…

While we’re resting, let’s also pray that God will give us a good understanding of the Sabbath.

Often, lately, the words of Jesus from Mark 2:27 come to mind on the weekends…. “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”

May we truly understand that.

God didn’t make us to meet the requirements of the Sabbath (day of rest), but rather He made the Sabbath to meet the needs of us, His people, to give us what He knows our bodies and souls need…

REST.

And isn’t it interesting that when we rest, it’s only natural that we look UP…

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.  – Psalm 121: 1-2

…………………………………..

Father,

You are the Lord of the Sabbath.

Please give us a full understanding of our need for rest in You, and Your desire for us to have it.

Thank You for making the Sabbath for us, for our needs.

May You  be glorified in our resting!

Amen.

I’m SO glad you’re here praying with me today!

I love your 31 days of prayer blogs. They are very inspiring! There is not enough Christian inspiration out there these days.
