May We All Be So Kind (Thought-Provoking Thursday)

The doorbell rang and I left the laundry room that was piled high with clothes to be folded and clothes to be washed to answer the door.

Hurrying there with my oldest one trailing alongside, wondering who it might be and what I might need to do, I reached to turn the knob.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this on my front steps…

What a WONDERFULLY SWEET surprise! And inside that beautiful wrapping was a blueberry bush I had my eye on, hoping to get to plant in our yard.

And it makes me think…

What if we all did something as sweet as that? Surprising a friend or neighbor with a token of our appreciation and words of love and encouragement. Giving them something to leave the laundry room for. Something to warm their heart and bring a smile to their face.

What difference could we make in their day? How could God use that to speak His love to them through us?

May we all be so kind!

Definitely something to think about (and hopefully do)…

(Thank you, my SWEET FRIEND!! I feel VERY fraddled for!!)

What a sweet surprise! I think the world would be a much better place if we all displayed random acts of kindness from time to time.

What a lovely reminder, Michelle! A seemingly small act can make such a difference! I love the photo, too.

Aw, that made me cry. What a beautiful thought…

Ack! I did the linkup wrong…. Maybe I should wait until I drink my coffee next time! ;)

That is beautiful. One small act….and you never know what other people are going through. Sometimes, when someone hurts us, our first inclination is to hurt them back, or a more mature person (in Christ) can forgive…and hopefully, reconcile. BUT, what if we all….went to someone who hurt us and not only forgave and reconciled but left a gift….I love your post. It really made me think….about forgiveness and reconciliation (maybe not what you intended)…but where God is leading me with this…and with a gift, a gift to solidify that reconcilation…..that’s what he did. He reconciled with us through His gift…his son!

Blessings!

Oh how sweet! That is definitely worth leaving the laundry ;) Blessings to you my friend!

Cranberry Morning

What a sweet and thoughtful surprise! It’s interesting how gifts given out-of-the-ordinary times like birthdays or Christmas are such a delight.

Be sure to keep your blueberry bush protected from bunnies and blueberries like acidic soil. :-)

What a beautiful surprise. You deserve it too, Michelle. Such a blessing. I try to do similar things once in awhile. We aren’t on this earth all that long and it’s nice to lift others up and show them they are loved.

awww! what a treat! just fyi: I think blueberry bushes need to be planted in pairs for pollination purposes. I could be wrong, but you may want to check on that so that you aren’t dissapointed if is doesn’t produce like you hoped. Also, I think that it can take up to 3 years for them to establish enough to really produce much fruit. And the other poster is right, they love acidic soil, so get lots of peat moss into your soil. Enjoy your plant!!! :-)

stef

that is ABSOLUTELY fantastic – I adore people who do that !! Brightens so many folks days!!
