Nothin’ Beats a Mud Puddle

After dropping my oldest son off at his enrichment classes yesterday, it was just too nice for my youngest and I to make our usual Target (or Dollar Tree) trip; so we decided to go to the Botanical Gardens. If you’re ever in the Fort Worth area I’d highly recommend the Botanical Gardens! We went to the Japanese Garden, which I’ve loved since I was young. There are trails that wind through a lovely oriental garden with pagodas, bridges, bamboo and stones. There’s a large, decorative pond filled with Koi fish just waiting to be fed and machines that spit out a handful of fish food for a quarter. My youngest one and I spent the early afternoon feeding fish (and ducks) and wandering through the paths in any direction that suited his fancy. It was lovely! (I wish I had a camera with me)

Later in the afternoon we met our Talkin’ Tuesday friends at a local farm to pick up worms for  compost worm bins we’ve been wanting to make. It was neat… A little farm with dairy cows, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits and a green house smack dab in middle of the city. Although, technically, the city built itself around the little farm. You can see the apartments behind the horse field in the picture below. It was so much fun. The young girl who lived there gladly took us on a tour. She enjoyed taking us around, telling about the different animals, but I don’t think she understood our boys fascination with the mud puddles.  Horses, goats, yeah-yeah… but LOOK there’s a mud puddle and rocks to throw! ;) It really was a lot of fun. I’m glad we went and would love to go back when it’s dry. Here’s a little peek into our farm and worm adventures (I’d write captions, but it’s past midnight and I’m tired… sorry about that):

I LOVE springtime in Texas!

BTW, don’t forget Fraddling Friday is coming up in just a couple of days… I enjoyed the last one so much! I hope you stop by for this coming one to share the ways you’re living and loving intentionally. I’d LOVE to “see” you there! And thank you to my sweet friends who took part in last week’s! ♥  (For more information on Fraddling Fridays see this post)
