Oh my soul, do you not know?

Oh my soul, do you not know that today is a gift from the Lord and tomorrow, let alone next year, is not promised?

Why do you worry yourself with questions about the future when you know The One who has ordained your days and written each one of  them before any has come to be.

You can trust in Him.

He holds your future and will guide your footsteps.

He will fight for you, you need only to be still.

Be still, oh my soul, and know

that He is God.

(Written after countless hours of thinking, worrying, researching, praying, and seeking the Lord’s guidance in education choices for my boys, one of whom was recently diagnosed with Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia. Thank you for any prayers you might pray on our behalf. I sure do appreciate them! How can I pray for you? Let me know in the comment section below.)

It’s an eye opener for me this morning, reading how you tell us why do we worry when God have already laid out our lives way before we were even born.

Paula Strong

I went through this with Daniel. He has dysgraphia as well. He is now doing great in college!

I do have a lot of worries myself and this blog had great timing!

I needed to read this today, Michelle. Thank you. I will definitely pray for your son and your entire family. I’m going through a transition process. Received two diagnosis (I know you know about some of this) since November and am continuing to go through additional testing. So if you add me to your prayers I’d love some for healing, reduced anxiety, and strength. I’ve been living those countless hours of thinking, worrying, researching, and praying also. Keep us posted, if you’d like, and know that extra prayers are coming your way.

Michelle (&Steve),

I just read your post. We just had Makayla diagnosed with some learning deficiencies. After some researched we found this place called LearningRX. This is NOT tutoring. They will retrain your brain in how it functions through certain techniques. This is a Christian based company that started here in Colorado Springs. We started a 6 month program for Makayla and used what we had for her college education and my parents are helping us since this will not only help her now in school but for the rest of her life. The owner said they have about a 98% success rate. AMAZING TESTIMONIES. You’ve got to at least give it a consult. Mention us here and they’ll give you a 50% discount for the testing which is VERY INFORMATIVE. They measure you against other kids in the same age.

Here are the locations near you:

Hi Shelly! Good to hear from you. We actually did Learning RX a couple of years ago and had amazing results! Zachary will be one of the first to say that is made a difference. He says it really sped up his thinking. And, the boy who couldn’t memorize the words to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star memorized a list of all US Presidents (he was quite proud of himself). Definitely worth the time and money in my book! Still, he has dyscalculia (math) and dysgraphia (writing). Learning RX helped a ton, but he still has learning differences (he’s a very visual-spatial learner). We enrolled him in a school that was started for students with dyslexia, but includes students with other issues such as dyscalculia and dysgraphia. It has been wonderful for him! (I probably should write a new post about how we came to the decision, it’s totally a God thing (and neat). One of the first days there he came out beaming and declared with great joy, “They teach me the way I learn!” It’s a totally different approach than I would enjoy or would have thought to take, but it’s working for him. Still, I wouldn’t change having done Learning RX (in Keller). It has been a strong link in his chain or growth and development! :)

Hope you guys are doing well. I look forward to the next time we get to hang out!
