Photography Tutorials with YOU in Mind

by SomeGirl on December 14, 2011 · 10 comments

Well, I have a few tutorials lined up in my head… A Super Easy Way to Move Off Auto Setting, When to Shoot in Aperture Mode versus Manual, and How To Make the Most of Your Point and Shoot.

In addition to those tutorials, I’d like to find out what YOU would like to learn.

Would you please take a moment to comment or email me your suggestions/requests?

I may not reply quickly, but I certainly will take your words to the drawing board as I plan future Photography Wednesday posts!

For today I’m sorry to say there is no information to be shared, only gathered. I’ve been experimenting with eating soy, wheat, and dairy free since November 1st and decided it wouldn’t hurt to have a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (or four) this evening… Imagine my surprise when that little treat turned into a BAD migraine that sent me to bed. (Note to self: no more peanut butter cups, which have soy and dairy.)

Anyway, I’ll be back tomorrow for thought-provoking Thursday and next week for Photography Wednesday.

Please let me know what you’d like to learn! Thank you.

I just purchased a Nikon D5100 DSLR and ANY tips you could give would be helpful and put to good use!!!
Sorry if that makes your choosing a tutorial option more difficult :)

Aperture vs manual mode would be very useful!
Interior photography without flash
I’d like to get into still life so any tips on that or macro work would also be appreciated!

I bought a Nikon D50 years ago and still cannot figure out how to use the manual settings very well. Sometimes I end up taking a great picture and can’t remember what I did. lol {Hmmm…could be a stay-at-home mom thing}

Anyhoo…any tutorials you do…I’ll be reading/watching. Thanks!

So sorry to hear about your headache! I hope you feel better soon…and I’ll be back tomorrow for Thought Provoking Thursday!

Blessings, Joan

Blessed Beyond a doubt

I don’t even know what Aperture means so…..anything will benefit me. Maybe a photography 101 course for dummies!

Are you going to do it weekly? You could make an ebook or something. Maybe even utilize YouTube which would bring lots of traffic.

I’d love to know when to shoot in manual vs. aperture mode, and what the difference is — I’d also love to see something on how to get good shots of kids at play. My boys never. stop. moving.

Anything on how to get to manual mode…everytime I try shooting something in manual all I get is a black screen…guess I need to keep trying different options to see what changes.
I usually shoot in aperture mode right now. But realistically, anything would be of help!

An ebook is a great idea!!! I’ve recommended that many people come to your site, esp. to read the photography lessons and the how to get into iStock… which is still my goal and I hope to do after Christmas!

A tutorial on lighting would be awesome. I’ve been able to break away from auto, but lighting is sometimes a big issue for me.

point and shoot, point and shoot please!!! I’d love to own a dslr…maybe someday. ! maybe a tutorial on what to look for in a camera, when you upgrade etc. what kinds of lens to purchase first, etc.
