Rest {Day Seven}

Chicken fried bacon dipped in Ranch dressing,

new cars to test drive (I’ll tell you more about this Chevy Traverse and how I’m an official “Chevy Girl” blogger soon!),

Fletchers corn dogs and Big Tex,

cotton candy,

and a lot of FUN!

Yep, it’s State Fair time in Texas. (And I kind of wish I had never tried the bacon.) ;)

Now, we’re all trying to recover from our day of excitement and to let our bodies rest.

Which reminds me…

So many of us need to learn how to rest physically, and even more of us need to learn how to rest spiritually.

Let’s make that our focus today… To pray for rest and revival of our weary bodies and souls. (Anyone else worn out like me?)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

……………………

Father,

You know how tired I am.

I come to you for rest.

Please take the burden that I put on myself to be and do so much more than you ever asked of me.

Please take it and show me what You would have me do, for your yoke is easy and your burden is light.

Thank you!

Please revive my weary body and soul!

Amen.

Ah, the Texas State Fair. Fun times. I’ve been there a few times for our lovely little rivalry, but not in a few years. Did you guys see the deep-fried Kool-Aid this year? It’s making the rounds in Oklahoma. I don’t even know how that would work!

SomeGirl

No, I didn’t see the fried Kool-Aid… I’m with you. I have NO idea how that works! I wondered that last time we went when I heard about fried Coke… crazy stuff! ;)

I did, however, see fried banana pudding and fried biscuits and gravy. Never saw the fried butter, but I have to admit I’m curious. :)

It’s great to see you here! (And I like Urban Sunrise, for what that’s worth.) :)

That’s my prayer, too!! —-daily!

Stefanie Brown

I needed this prayer today, Michelle! I’ve crawled back in bed this morning, physically sick from the weariness of life. I’m worn out emotionally and it’s taking its toll on me physically.
I’m resting today. More importantly, I’m resting in Him
Praying for a revival or rest…

Shell

What a beautiful prayer. And so needed by so many of us!

I am loving your series of prayers for revivals. Thank you for praying for us. I’m praying for you as well. :) xoxo

I’m having a day of rest (of sorts) today. While I’m still taking care of laundry all day, my goal is to sit outside as much as possible and focus on God. He is calling us to come away and rest in Him.

I need to print this out and pray it every day.

thank you friend.
