If you had been at our house Saturday morning you might have thought it was someone’s birthday… the boys were SO excited! They couldn’t wait to go fishing!!! (Remember that sign down the road that read: FREE FISHING DERBY FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16)
______________
Poppy came with us, which added to the excitement. He and the boys made bamboo poles during a home-school lesson on Native Americans a few months back and this was the first time they were going to try them out (they took their trusty rods with them as well).

We all had a lot of fun fishing… never caught anything, but had lots of fun. Believe it or not, the lady to the left of us reeled a fish in every 10 minutes and the men to the right every 20 minutes; but none for us. There’s just something about us and fish… But the lady was very nice and let both boys reel some of her fish in. Thank you!

What a nice day of fraddling with my sweet, fun, handsome guys! ♥

Now we’re in Sweetwater on a “Family Fraddling Mini Road Trip”… our plan was to go star gazing, spend the night in a hotel, watch TV in bed, eat lots of road trip food and swim in the indoor pool. Unfortunately it rained so no stars… but it turns out Sweetwater is home to the World’s Largest Wind Farm. How cool is that!? We’re going to take photos tomorrow… I’ll post some soon.
(And I’m up WAY too late! I sneaked out of the room at midnight EST to buy an Early Bird ticket to The Relevant Conference in October. I got my ticket and I’m So excited about going!… I’m also a little sunburned from the fishing derby. Who would have thought about sunscreen in February? Not me, apparently.) ;)

I used to love fishing as a child… but I don’t understand how it can be exciting (fun?) for adults. Looks like your boys had a great time.
Yeah, I enjoyed the act of fishing more as a child, too. But I enjoy the enjoyment my boys experience more than I ever enjoyed fishing myself! Funny how that happens. :)
(btw, it’s GREAT to see you here again!)
What wonderful pictures! Aren’t those the best days int the world!!
Thanks, Betsy! I’d have to agree with you… and now, after reading your Dr. Seuss post, I’ll stop thinking, “they grow so fast… I’m going to miss this!” (crying because it’s going to be over) Instead I’ll “smile because it happened.” :) … See what an influence you have!?
