Dear John,

by SomeGirl on April 1, 2010 · 19 comments

I don’t know how to write a formal Dear John letter, but I know the basic premise is “we’ve had a good time and now I’m gone.” So today I’m here to write my first Dear John letter. I’ve enjoyed blogging with you these past couple of months, but I realize I need to stop. I’ve been thinking about it awhile, but after a few things that happened this week I decided now was the time to do it. I’m sad to see it end. And I’ll miss you guys! You have been wonderful and I’ve truly appreciated all of your comments and encouragement. I have really enjoyed getting to know you! And for you, my sweet reader I have one last thing to say…

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!

You didn’t think you were getting rid of me that easily now did you?!

Sorry, but when I went to type up this weeks thought provoking Thursday and looked at the date I just couldn’t resist it! Now, I have to figure out how to get my husband and children! ;)

Ok, seriously now…  here’s what I originally intended to share… a little food for thought, and no joking matter:

Did you know…

There are 168.8 million needy children…  Seems like a big number?

It shouldn’t, b/c there are 2.1 BILLION people on earth who profess to be Christians.

If only 8 percent of those Christians would care for just ONE of these needy children, they would all be taken care of.*

As we celebrate Easter this week, may we remember the new commandment Christ has given us… to love one another.

“You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving…”   – Amy Carmichael

Now, that’s something to think about.

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you through your blog. I’ve given you a couple of blog awards that you can check out at http://a-steady-rain.blogspot.com/2010/03/ive-been-awarded.html Keep up the awesome work (and no, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke!) =)

I get Dear John letters all the time. And, I never believe them.

Remember our conversations of long ago? Hoping that fewer people would talk about Jesus and start acting like Jesus? You are a good person Michelle. Thanks for making the world a better place.

Thanks, John!

I didn’t even think about it being a Dear “John” letter, but I was definitely thinking about you and your message to me when I wrote the second half… weird. :) One of these Thought Provoking Thursdays I want to see if I can quote one of our discussions from back then… I’ll message you with it soon. :)

Have a GREAT day!

Yeah, I hope the joke didn’t overshadow the real need to DO what we’ve been called to DO. But, I just couldn’t pass it up! ;) lol

OKay, you got me!! That was mean, really. :) SO glad you’re not shutting it down, after all I just found you a few weeks ago! And you are so right, we have to (as my pastor says) put feet to our faith. DO something!

Hee Hee… sorry, Dawn! ;) I just LOVE April Fool’s Day and I love having you here!

Btw, I really like the idea of… “putting feet to our faith” (that could make a good post). Thanks for the comment. :)
