And whatever you do
(laundry, dishes, carpool, work, teaching, photography, crafting, diapers…)
or say,
(to your friends, on your blog, at the coffee shop, around the house, over the internet or phone…)
do it
(ALL of it!)
as a representative of
(being an example of, standing for, typifying…)
the Lord Jesus,
(our Lord and Savior, who humbled Himself for our sake)
giving thanks through Him
(showing gratitude because He’s chosen you to be His representative; He’s given you the right to be called Children of God)
to God the Father.
(our Father, your Father, the one who made us, loves us and rescued us!)
~ Colossians 3:17 New Living Translation (words in parenthesis are mine)

What a wonderful reminder to do all we do to the glory of God. My husband has been out of town all week, the baby is going through a little growth spurt, I’ve changed a lot of extra diapers today, and wore spit up on my back without knowing it. Whew! This was a sweet reminder that I am doing God’s work. What a privilege it is to be a wife and mommy! :) Thanks for the new perspective.
Hope your weekend is going well and you’re filled with the knowledge that you are, indeed, doing God’s work! (Hope you get a break soon, too!) ;)
The hardest thing for me to remember when I am elbow deep in soapy water or folding laundry for the millionth time, or cleaning up puke, is to do it all for the Glory of God. I like your additions. :)
I’m right there with ya! Praying we’ll keep our eyes on Him and bringing Him glory even when we’re doing that same old task the thousandth time. Thanks, Amy. :)
