My New Favorite Way to Make Bacon

Thought I’d share my new favorite way to make bacon… in the oven!

Simply line a baking sheet with foil (I like to crinkle mine to make the bacon wavy). Make sure your foil goes up at the edge of the sheet to keep the grease in.

Arrange the bacon pieces side by side on the foil.

Do NOT preheat your oven. Place the baking sheet in the cold oven.

Close the oven door.

Set the oven to 400 degrees and a timer to 17 – 20 minutes (depending upon your oven and the thickness of your bacon).

And, as it says in the original place I found this recipe… walk away.

When the timer goes off, remove the tray from the oven and enjoy your tasty, delicious, makes-everything-better… BACON!!!

Yum!

To clean up: simply let the foil lined tray sit and cool, then remove the foil and throw it away. (Next to eating the bacon, this is my favorite part… not having dishes to wash!) ;)

Enjoy!

That’s how we make bacon! My dad taught me a few years ago and it has made Saturday Morning Breakfasts much better. While the bacon is cooking I can get everything else together.

Isn’t that nice? And not have to worry about bacon grease splattering everywhere… I love it! Thanks for taking the time to comment, Ann! :)

I’ve been cooking bacon in the oven for some time, but have never tried it on foil! I’ll have to try that now. I love how much easier it is to bake bacon in the oven.

So much easier, isn’t it?! Hope you find it helpful to use foil. :)

I forgot all about this way to make bacon. My grandma would make bacon like this when the whole family would come to the farm for breakfast. I’ll have to try it again. I love bacon!

I haven’t done it for large crowds yet, but I could see how nice it would be to have a few trays ready to go and just pop them in. :) Thanks, my fellow bacon lover!

Did anybody have a major smoke show in their kitchen from doing this or just me? (and yes, my oven was clean) :)

Oh no… that’s not good! Did your pan have a lip on it (to keep the grease in)?
