Wow! I found this AWESOME post today on Pinterest: Taking Glowing Pics of the Tree and had some fun trying it out… if only I hadn’t broken my 50mm lens last night. {whimper}
Her pictures were AMAZING! (see them here)
Her’s were shot at 1.8 (which made the lights STUNNING) and the lowest aperture I could get with my lens was 4.0.
I wish I could have tried it with a lower f-stop (aperture), but I think the look is still SO nice! So nice that I just had to share this tip with YOU… a bonus photography Wednesday post!
ISO 6400 f/4.0 shutter speed 1/15
Set your ISO to its highest setting
your aperture to its lowest setting
and your shutter speed around 1/30.
See today’s post on aperture or an earlier post on Manual Mode for further details on these settings.

Wish I could try this out, but my tree isn’t up yet! Probably won’t get to that until after my Haiti trip. I’ll come back and learn it again!! Very cool technique.
I’m so glad you’re back and can’t wait to hear how the trip was! Sounds like it was a life-changer!
Sooo pretty. And it looks like I am just going to have to bite the bullet and get that lens! ;-)
