To My Fellow People-Pleasers

(written to myself after a conversation with a neighbor this morning… hopefully it’s helpful to someone else, as well.) :)

What are you so afraid of that you spend your time worrying what others think?

If you’ve made a mistake, correct it.

If you’ve done something wrong, apologize.

If it’s just a personal preference, it’s okay to let someone be displeased with your choice.

Don’t let fear rule your life.

For God did not give you a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart and the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Let your mind trust in Him.

He is good and His love endures forever.

What have you to be afraid of?

Something to think about.

For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 NET

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalm 28:7 NIV

Thanks! I needed to read this today. :)

Many blessings!

Amen. I needed that reminder today! I’ve been struggling a bit with pleasing others lately.

I’m a recovering people pleaser :) It’s what I’ve always done, and it’s tough to change, but it’s necessary. And there’s been such great peace since starting the journey. Thanks for this post!
