Traveling Photography Wednesday

Today’s more showing photography than teaching photography, but I thought it would be fun to share some photos from our trip so far.

I do have one helpful tip for taking pictures on a road trip…

Keep your camera out and handy. If you have a DSLR and it’s somewhere safe, keep your lens cover off and your power on (let it go into sleep mode). It will be much easier to snap that photo of something neat you see if you follow that simple tip. (I missed quite a few interesting shots due to my lens cover and power button.) ;)

That’s it for today as far as teaching goes… Not much of a lesson, hu? But, I could have really used it earlier in the day. :)

If you’re interested, here are a few shots from our trip so far…

Food, fun and fellowship with family before we left…

Photography style bingo (pseudo scavenger hunt) in the car.

New Mexico…

Trying to find something interesting to shoot while driving through the dry, brown, desert land for hours…

A GREAT Greek restaurant across from the University of New Mexico…

The reason we’re heading toward Canada! (100* at 7:30 pm)

Route 66 and where I’m typing this post. :)

Hope you’ll stop back by tomorrow for thought provoking Thursday… I have a sweet blogging friend filling in for me with a great story to share!
