It Always Surprises Me When I Notice The Trees Budding…

As I said yesterday… I LOVE Texas in the springtime! We had a brief thunderstorm today with lots of hail and rain. Then, just as quickly as the storm came, it went. It has turned into the most beautiful day! The grass is getting greener, the air is cool and refreshing, and the trees are starting to bud. It always surprises me when I notice the trees budding… it seems to happen without me being aware. One day the trees are dead and gray, then the next they are covered with lovely white flowers. Today I was surprised by the tears that welled up in my eyes when I noticed the blooms. Is it really time to point out the signs of spring to my children again? It seems way too soon from the last time we drove around noticing the buds on the trees… admiring their beauty and looking forward to their lush greenness. Then I did a quick calculation and realized I only have 11 more times of being surprised by the lovely white blooms of springs before my oldest goes off to college (or is of the age to be able to go). I know 11 years is a long time, but considering how quickly this spring came, 11 more times seems like so few.  Fortunately and unfortunately, these enchanting white trees line many of the streets in our city. I continued to admire their beauty as we drove, but it seemed as if each was hauntingly reminding me, “Times flies by!” I hope I’ll not continue to respond with sadness for the speedy passing of time, but that I will relish the time I have and make the most of it! ♥

(Man, don’t know why I’ve been SO deep lately… hopefully I’ll snap out of it soon!) ;)

After publishing this post I went to look at the updates to blogs on my favorites list and found this great post on Springtime and Depression. If you’re feeling blue and can’t seem to shake it, check out Alicia’s post. I’m looking forward to following her Journey out of Darkness. :)

We just noticed the buds the other day. There’s a pretty pink one on the way to the Post Office on Roy. I love it!

I might drive that way to get pizza just to check it out! :)

We haven’t really had a lot of buds here. But I’m ready, especially after the rain yesterday and today.

I know what you mean about children growing too fast. My turns 13 in a couple of months. Where did the time go? I pray you enjoy every single minute of it. May your home be full of the blessings of God and His love.

Thanks for sharing my link! I am glad others are looking forward to the story. I pray it is all for His glory.

Take care!
Hope you have a great day!

I’m glad to have shared it! You have a great blog with encouraging and insightful content. I will pray with you that God be glorified through your (and my) writing!

Thanks for the prayer and blessing! Love, Michelle

Alicia & SomeGirl,

Thanks for the link and the post! I can’t wait to read more of the story. It’s always encouraging to hear from others who have experienced the same things. I just don’t think people who haven’t gone through it can comprehend the depth of the darkness… Glad you’ve found your way out!
