What Have I Done For You Lately? (intentionally)

Have you ever had one of those weeks that just flew by and you had no idea what  you did with all the time??? That’s how this week has been for me… I must have subconsciously decided to “take the week off” after last weekend’s birthday party. With that said, I’ve been trying to think of things I’ve done intentionally to love others, to Put Feet to My Faith, and I can only really think of one thing. Not to say that I haven’t loved others, I just haven’t done it intentionally. Here’s the one I can think of (it actually just happened 2 hours ago)…

I was the first one up in our house this morning and I tried to sneak into my desk area to start writing this post… I ever-so-gently pulled out my old, wooden railroad chair (which I LOVE, but is very squeaky) and sat down as slowly and quietly as  I could. I started my morning routine… FB, yahoo, twitter… getting everything open… and then I heard tiny little footsteps and a faint little, “mommy…?” Awh, man!… I had just opened everything. And today is Putting Feet to Your Faith Friday. And I really want to get this out so you can link up if there’s anything you want to link. And…

Then I heard that sweet little voice say, “will you please watch Super Why with me?” (imagine that said in a sweet, newly-3-year-old voice). See, last night we had Mommy/Little One Movie Night (which just means we watched something on TV). My oldest went with my husband to Daddy Night at his enrichment “school,” and we cuddled on the couch watching Word World. Then we started Super Why without realizing it was already past bedtime. I stopped it after the intro and told him we could watch the rest today. So, when he came in asking me to finish our “date” and I was sitting here wanting to get to OUR date, I had a choice to make…

A. “Not right now, Honey. I’m working a little bit.”

or

B. “Sure, Sweetheart. Let’s go watch Super Why.”

I didn’t have to think long, but I did have to be intentional. I decided you guys could wait, and chose to fraddle with my son. It’s not that big, but it was intentional. And that’s what fraddling is about, right? Doing something (no matter what the size) for or with someone because you love them. And that’s putting feet to my faith, “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4

I pray I’ll be more intentional next week! How about you? How have you been intentional with your love and life this week? How have you put feet to your faith? How have you acted out  1 John 3:18 “… let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” I’d LOVE to read about it in the comment section below. Or link your “feet to faith” post below for all of us to read! (Just be sure to link back to SomeGirl’sWebsite … btw, we’ll be linking up each Friday! So, keep that in mind next week as you blog). ♥ Thanks!

I linked! I love this idea. Looking for more ways to be intentional and put feet to my faith. Thanks for inspiring us!

Wow!! It’s so easy to become focused on what “needs” to be done or what we “think” need to be done that we miss those opportunities!! BUT, when we do take the time to “fraddle” (did I use that right??? ), the blessings are amazing!! Thanks for the reminder! Hope you had fun watching Super Why!! =)

Some Girl
