Where Is Your Treasure Stored? (Thought Provoking Thursday)

by SomeGirl on February 9, 2011 · 25 comments

After much prayer on how to use photography to glorify God and some great advice from The Homespun Life, I tried something new this week… driving around praying and looking for what God wanted me to see and share through the lens of the camera. I’m really glad I did it! Linking up with Our Giggles and Grimaces’ Try Something New Thursday.

Something to think about (and take inventory of)…

Link up your thought-provoking, encouraging, inspiring or challenging posts from anytime this week below (and be sure to check back later to see what great links are listed)!

*If you try to link up and it doesn’t work, please leave a comment with your link and I’ll add it as soon as I can. Please, also, tell me what browser you’re using so I can report the problem. Thanks!

The winner of the Lunch For a Cure Cookbook is: Nanette Edmonds. Congratulations and thanks for spreading the word for Neuroblastoma Research! ♥

We just read a story for school called The Mansion by Henry van Dyke about this very verse. You can google it and read it. It really brings the truth of where our heart should be.

Ooh, I’ll check that out… Thanks!

I love the idea of driving around and looking for what God wanted you to see and share. Your photo and the Bible verse fit together perfectly! Well done, Michelle!

Thanks, Deb! But I can’t take much credit… the verse popped into my head as soon as I saw the gate (LOVE that He works like that!). :)

Thank you my dear :) I am entering a thought provoking post from Soul Liberty Faith. Isn’t it amazing what He says to us as we listen while we go about our day?

I love that you went to the photography session at Blissdom and now are creating with the Creator. Beautiful mix of heaven and earth…

what an amazing picture! That is very cool that you were so intentional on asking God to show you how to use your new love.

Beautiful photo. Wonderful idea! We should ALL ask for God’s insight into what He wants us to see and how we can glorify Him with our gifts…even if that gift is changing a lot of diapers. :)

I linked up, by the way. It didn’t show up, but I don’t know if it requires approval or not.

Thanks for the link-up!

Never mind. It showed up. User error, which, by the way, is my middle name. I know–my parents were almost prophetic with that one.

What a fun link-up.

There is a great meme on Sundays, for your photos: Scripture and a Snapshot

Love your photo! I do have a flickr account. And did I send you my address? I can’t remember; it’s been a hectic few weeks.

You kept popping up in my twitter feed so I followed you and now I am here. :) We seem to have a lot in common, after looking at your about section. Attaching a scripture to a cool picture like that is such a neat idea. I like your blog and I will be back. Thanks for the opportunity to link up. Have a great day! :)

Isn’t it amazing how we can leave God out as if He doesn’t matter in this or that, but if we really stop to consider it, there’s NOTHING we do that can’t include Him if we’re seeking His will. I went through a similar thought process about my papercrafting recently and came to see that anything can be a ministry of the Lord if you’re open to following his direction!

Thanks for sharing!

Awesome photo. I love that you are allowing God to direct your photography like that.

I’ve been looking for a thoughtful/inspirational blog series to join. I think this is it. :) My link didn’t post, so I’ll put it here: http://readhearseefeel.blogspot.com/2011/02/psalms-for-wednesday.html

Yay! Glad to have you! I linked up your post; thanks for sharing it here. Do you mind me asking what browser you are using? I’m trying to figure out why the link doesn’t work for some people. Thanks! I look forward to getting to know you! ~ Michelle

Internet Explorer. :)

Thanks!! I’ll check that out. :)

I am not sure if my link is going to show up.

What a perfect post! I’m excited to see how God uses your passion for photography to send His message.

Good post and photo to accompany it! The fallen world without Jesus has absolutely nothing to offer us. Redemption through Christ is the missing link.

Jenny @ The Southern Institute

I love how you tied that to the Scriptures! Beautiful!

Love that!

Perfect fit – the pic and words. Beautiful!

For where your treasure is; there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21

That just brought tears to my eyes~
